US Treasury Secretary meets with UAE officials

WASHINGTON, DC (15 July 2009) – During a visit to the UAE, US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner met with numerous UAE officials to discuss the countries’ response to the global financial crisis as well as cooperation on numerous fronts.
Secretary Geithner met with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, HE Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, and attended with her an event hosted by the US-UAE Business Council on the importance of education for a country’s economic development. During the meeting, they discussed post-crisis economic reforms and the two countries’ commitment to recovery.

Secretary Geithner also met with HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who hosted him and his delegation for a dinner in Abu Dhabi.
