Since 2016, the UAE Consulate General in LA has been the presenting sponsor of Turkey Trot LA. The Thanksgiving Day race brings together thousands of runners and walkers to raise money for The Midnight Mission – an organization that has worked for over 110 years has worked to tackle the challenge of homelessness in Los Angeles.
Ten years ago, we joined Turkey Trot Los Angeles because we believed in the work of The Midnight Mission. Ten years on, we are more committed than ever — because community, respect and mutual support are values deeply instilled in the culture and heritage of the UAE, and ones that LA has embodied for us, year after year. We are grateful to be part of this city and support The Midnight Mission again this Thanksgiving.
— HESSA AL SHUWAIHI, CONSUL GENERAL OF THE UAE IN LOS ANGELES
In addition to supporting the race itself, the Consulate General also provides monetary support for The Midnight Mission’s programs to address homelessness in Los Angeles.
