Earth Day Peace Tree Ceremony

In advance of Earth Day and President Joseph R. Biden’s Climate Summit, the Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the United States and Ambassador Gilad Erdan, Ambassador of Israel to the United States inaugurated the UAE Embassy’s new “Peace Garden,” by planting an olive tree. The olive tree celebrates the Abraham Accords, UAE-Israeli relations and both countries’ shared commitment to the environment; it serves as a symbol of peace, friendship, and collaboration. The Ambassadors were joined by representatives from the White House, Congress, and other Abraham-Accord countries. Ambassador Al Otaiba concluded the ceremony by gifting Ambassador Erdan a matching olive tree to plant in the garden of the Embassy of Israel.
