On 8 June 2021, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States held their eighth Economic Policy Dialogue (EPD) at the US Department of State in Washington, DC, marking the forum’s return to an in-person format.

The discussions highlighted the significant achievements made by both countries since the convening of the 2020 EPD. Both nations reaffirmed their shared vision to promote a holistic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and committed to continue working together in the key sectors that will shape a more prosperous and sustainable future for Emiratis and Americans alike.

Below I share a few thoughts about the Economic Policy Dialogue and what it means for the UAE-US relationship moving forward.
