LOS ANGELES (25 November 2025) – The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appointed Hessa Alshuwaihi as Consul General in Los Angeles, marking a new chapter in the UAE’s dynamic partnership with California and the western United States. Ms. Alshuwaihi, a seasoned diplomat with over a decade of experience, will lead the UAE’s diplomatic post in Los Angeles.

As Consul General, Ms. Alshuwaihi will strengthen commercial, investment and cultural ties that have made California a cornerstone of the UAE’s engagement in the US. UAE investment continues to fuel growth across key sectors – technology, clean energy, transportation and advanced manufacturing – where both California and the UAE are recognized as global leaders.

“The UAE and California share a vibrant, future-focused partnership. Our collaboration in innovation, AI, entertainment and sustainable energy is creating new opportunities for both our economies and people,” said Ms. Alshuwaihi. “Serving at this pivotal time is a privilege, and I look forward to expanding connections across business, education and culture.”
