Writing in the Financial Times, UAE Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba explains that the UAE's exit from OPEC reflects the country's progress as a diversified, knowledge-based economy. 

"OPEC was built for oil-dependent states. The UAE hasn't been one for a long time," writes Ambassador Al Otaiba, noting that less than a quarter of UAE GDP is now tied to energy.

By leaving OPEC, the UAE can produce at full capacity to help ensure global energy security and economic stability. Revenues from expanded production will support infrastructure development and sustained growth.

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (“Philadelphia Parks”) today announced the start of construction on a brand-new, year-round soccer field at Conestoga Park. This field is made possible through the support of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (“UAE Embassy”) in Washington, DC and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (“CHOP”). The renovation is expected to be completed later this Spring.
