DUBAI, April 23 2021 (WAM) - His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to transform the challenges of climate change into future opportunities for the next generation, as well as work closely with the United States, the global community and the private sector to make a step-change in the global response to climate change.
Just two weeks ago, the first Israeli commercial airline flight landed in Abu Dhabi from Tel Aviv. Along with a large delegation of Israeli officials and media, it carried a bigger message. It was written in two-foot high letters in three languages on the side of the El Al aircraft: Peace. Shalom. Salaam.

I am pleased to convey to you the greetings of the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates, and notably, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. I stand here today to extend a hand of peace and receive a hand of peace. In our faith, we say, "O God, you are peace and from you is peace." The search for peace is an innate principle, yet principles are effectively realized when they are transformed into action.
Writing in Hebrew in Yedioth Ahronoth, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba says that the UAE-Israel accord is an important win for diplomacy and for people of the region.
"Closer UAE-Israel ties will accelerate growth and innovation, expand opportunities for young people, and breakdown long-held prejudices. It will help move the region beyond a troubled legacy of hostility," he writes.

The government of the United Arab Emirates has taken significant steps to address the complex public health and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The UAE has announced a temporary suspension on issuing visas upon arrival for holders of exempted passports, effective 01:00 (UAE local time) on Thursday, March 19, 2020, as part of the precautionary and preventive measures adopted by the country to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The decision will apply to holders of exempted passports until a medical clearance process is activated at the departure country as part of global precautionary measures being undertaken to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
