Meetings with U.S. Secretary of State and Senior Trump Administration Officials Highlight UAE’s Role in Regional Stability and Economic Growth

Washington, D.C. (11 June 2025) – H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, began an official visit to the United States (U.S.) with a series of high-level discussions with senior Trump Administration officials that reaffirmed the strategic bilateral partnership and advanced shared priorities around regional security, investment and economic development, security, and technological innovation.

Sheikh Abdullah met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller. The discussions focused on bolstering regional and global security and expanding bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technology.

The meetings also underscored the UAE’s role as a strategic ally in the Middle East and its dedication to regional stability. Sheikh Abdullah praised the enduring partnership between the UAE and the U.S., emphasizing the importance of collaboration in promoting peace and security in the region and beyond.

A key highlight of the visit was the reaffirmation of the UAE’s commitment to invest $1.4 trillion in key sectors across the United States over the next decade. First announced during President Trump’s visit to the UAE in May, future UAE investments in the U.S. will focus on areas such as technology infrastructure, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing. The initiative is poised to drive innovation, create jobs, and further deepen bilateral economic ties, reflecting the UAE’s broader vision of fostering mutual prosperity and sustainable development on a global scale.

The UAE delegation accompanying Sheikh Abdullah included Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the U.S.; Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; and Dr. Maha Taysir Barakat, Assistant Minister for Medical Affairs and Life Sciences at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
