UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan Discusses Bilateral Cooperation with U.S. Congressional Leaders

Washington, D.C. (12 June 2025) – H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, continued his official visit to the United States with a series of high-level briefings with key members of the U.S. Congress. These discussions reinforced the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with the U.S. while addressing global challenges and promoting greater economic and investment ties.
Sheikh Abdullah met with Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), the Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. He also met jointly with Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY), Ranking Member of the of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA). The discussions focused on critical regional and security issues, with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
In a meeting with Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY), Sheikh Abdullah also explored opportunities to deepen economic and commercial partnerships between the UAE and the U.S. Key topics included innovation, infrastructure development, and global trade. Sheikh Abdullah also highlighted the UAE’s commitment to invest $1.4 trillion in the U.S. over the next ten years, emphasizing its potential to drive economic growth, create jobs, and further strengthen bilateral ties.
The UAE delegation accompanying Sheikh Abdullah included Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the U.S.; Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs; and Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs.
