United Way Directs Funds to Protect Marine Ecosystem in Florida Keys

In recent weeks, unprecedented heatwaves hit North America, Asia and Europe, forest fires engulfed parts of the Mediterranean, and droughts threatened crop yields across the US. Climate impacts are accelerating, and so must the global response.

COP28 Director-General Ambassador Majid Al Suwaidi and Deputy Assistant to the President for Energy and Investment Amos Hochstein met in Washington Friday, July 21 to discuss ongoing cooperation between the UAE and US on climate action, including to facilitate an ambitious and successful COP28. Following COP28 President-Designate Dr. Sultan Al Jaber’s remarks in Brussels last week, Ambassador Al Suwaidi briefed DAP Hochstein on the UAE’s updated agenda for the climate summit, to be held in Dubai later this year.
