Ambassadors “pass the torch” as the Games go from Abu Dhabi to Berlin; highlight Special Olympics’ success to promote inclusion worldwide

Washington, D.C. (31 March 2023) – The UAE Embassy in Washington last night welcomed a diverse group of religious, government and civil society leaders to its sixth annual Interfaith Iftar – an annual tradition marking the holy month of Ramadan.

WASHINGTON, DC, 14th March, 2023 (WAM) - The UAE today announced the formation of the Manara Centre, the regional centre for coexistence. Based in Abu Dhabi and named after the Arabic word that means “source of light”, the centre will support core UAE values and initiatives, such as the Year of Tolerance and the Abrahamic Family House.

US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry convened a meeting at the White House today with UAE Climate Envoy and COP28 President Designate H.E. Sultan Al Jaber to discuss opportunities for raising climate ambition and accelerating climate action on the road to COP28 in Dubai in December of this year. 

WASHINGTON, DC, 6th March 2023 (WAM) - Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and COP28 UAE President-Designate, today emphasized the integral role that the oil and gas industry plays in solving the climate challenge during his keynote remarks at CERAWeek.

Speaking at the plenary on the first day, Dr. Al Jaber explained, “Energy leaders have the knowledge, experience, expertise and the resources needed to address the dual challenge of driving sustainable progress while holding back emissions.”
