Washington, DC – Today, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in Washington, DC celebrated the country’s 49^th National Day through a virtual program that highlighted the UAE’s shared achievements with partners in 2020, including cooperation to address the COVID-19 pandemic, the launch of the Hope Probe to Mars and the historic signing of the Abraham Accords between the UAE and Israel.

The United Arab Emirates and the United States signed an Enhanced Consular Privileges and Immunities Agreement that will provide enhanced protections to Emirati and American consular staff in both countries. The agreement will enable consular staff to better protect the interests of citizens abroad. As an important strategic partner of the US, the UAE remains committed to maintaining stability in the Gulf, creating economic prosperity for both countries and increasing cultural understanding between our citizens.
