WASHINGTON, August 22, 2019 – United Arab Emirates Minister of State Zaki Nusseibeh visited Washington, DC this week to lead and participate in a number of discussions on the history of cultural diplomacy in the United Arab Emirates and how soft power is and can continue to be a beneficial tool in bridging understanding and creating long-lasting global partnerships.

Meridian Center International and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates hosted a salon lunch discussion on culinary diplomacy. Cultural influencers and food aficionados from across D.C. came together to learn about the history of the cuisine of Abu Dhabi, which has influenced chefs, writers, educators, and diplomats throughout the region.
