Expo 2020 USA Pavilion Youth Ambassadors Send-Off

On Wednesday, September 15, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba joined Ms. Dana Al Marashi, Head of Cultural Diplomacy at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC to speak with the Expo 2020 USA Pavilion Youth Ambassadors. The Youth Ambassadors are a group of 75 Americans aged 18-29 whom have been selected by the State Department, in partnership with Global Ties to staff the USA Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and act as the “faces of America” to the millions of people who will visit over the six months. The group had gathered in Washington before flying together to the UAE to begin training.

Dana Al Marashi spoke to the Youth Ambassadors about their new home and offered a glimpse into the cultural diversity and opportunity awaiting the Youth Ambassadors in the UAE. Ambassador Al Otaiba joined the group to share motivational remarks and wish them a wonderful trip. The Youth Ambassadors left the session empowered to make the most of their stay in the UAE and to return home as accomplished ambassadors for both the USA and the UAE.
